Established in 1996 by Con Lynch and Pat Dennehy, Compound Feed Engineering (CFE) was initially founded to become the preferred supplier of pelleting consumables to the compound feed industry.

Due to the growth in pelleting outside the compound area, CFE now embraces all the other applications that use pelletising equipment and have quickly moved into specialising in the supply of new dies and the refurbishment of roll assemblies. CFE's prime objective is to supply a total service and engineering solutions package to the pelleting industry.

Planning for the industry's future needs, CFE initiated a major investment plan. Roll refurbishment has been semi-automated; handling manipulators and overhead cranage have been installed. This investment has placed CFE in the position to capitalise on the bigger pelleting consumables that will be required in the future.

The company's first base (and main headquarters) is Castleisland in Ireland. Here they invested in automated plant for unblocking dies and this equipment was patented and CFE bought the use of the patent for Ireland and the UK.

The UK operation is based at Haydock in a highly automated plant. The 9,000 sq ft factory is conveniently situated just off the M6 motorway at junction 23. Although now well established in the UK, the administration function remains in Castleisland where daily contact with customers and suppliers is maintained through CFE's Freephone number.

In January 2007 CFE opened its 15,000 sq ft state of the art Dutch plant.  Again this is a highly automated and technologically advanced plant.  The objective of CFE BV is to service the Benelux, German and Eastern European markets.  CFE BV is based in Helmond in north Brabant.

Investment in technology has been matched with careful selection of staff. To fill key roles CFE have invested in people with extensive experience from well-known companies in the compound feed and supply industries. Whilst a relatively young company, CFE's Sales Team has on average twenty years' industry experience and the Production Team in excess of nine. All new recruits complete an intensive training regime. CFE has assembled an enormous amount of skill and experience in applying supply technology to pelleting functions and benchmarking.

CFE fully believes that benchmarking input costs in milling engineering is the direction that industry needs to go. CFE will provide the total solution including maintenance of equipment. The service package will provide solutions to the challenges facing milling engineers. The company offers the complete solution and has made the investment in technology and people to ensure that this is achieved.
